We never really intended to make the music video for Matlab, however since our 2nd music video never really saw the day of light we had to make a quick decision to make Matlab as the 2nd music video.
Music videos are never easy to plan for obvious reasons and restrictions with time and money always seems to get in the way of creative freedom but we do the best we can. Matlab had even more restrictions than JPT since we had to shoot the video very quickly and it all had to be within a very low budget. With the help of our director and my good friend Veerapol and Jeff, the story board for the music video was drawn out within 2 weeks time. We had planned for Matlab to be a more elaborate video shoot but again time was an issue here so we planned everything to be a one day shoot rather than a 2 or 3 days work.
The over all story of the video is very straight forward. We tried to follow the theme of the song but also tried to keep it interesting by having some alternate shots. The original plan was to have all members in the video, some way or another, but because the video was shot in LA it was tough for Anand and ROB to make it in time so the video was shot the way it was.
We were pretty much satisfied with the overall outcome considering that we only had a day to shoot the whole video. It was tough and a long day for all but we toughed it out. I have to thank Jeff and Veerapol for doing such an excellent job organizing everything and coming up with such good concept and lighting. Also the rest of the crew that helped and obviously my good friends that showed up and helped during the shooting, although most of them ended up being edited out of the video and for that I do apologies.
