The story according
to Budha
JPT was probably the 4th track that we had
come up with while composing songs for our
album JPT. Anand was the genius who came up
with the structure and the basic guitar pattern
of the song but he was such a genius that
he couldn’t complete it and then in came ROB
and BG to help the poor Mr. A to the D out.
The original track consisted of some verses
and chorus with a structured chord pattern
and a super sci fi/funktastic sounding guitar
lead sorta thing that plays through out the
whole song. I would love to lie to everyone
and say I made that guitar riff but unfortunately
Mr. A (Anand) had beaten me by a millisecond
in composing this wonderful guitar lead pattern
*damn that guy*. Obviously me and ROB were
stunned since this was the first time we had
seen Anand create something close to good
however we were not surprised by the fact
that he couldn’t complete it.
The lyrics for JPT were pretty much all ready
when the song was composed, with the exceptions
of ROB’s rhyme and my one line that I sing
throughout the whole song. With the lyrics
all ready we had recorded a very rough version
of JPT with basically a drum pattern, 2 different
guitar patterns and a simple bass line. Although
it sounds easy, one should not be fooled by
my simple wordings and my laid back attitude
in this report. It was difficult as F@#% !
Reason being that this was a first and a new
experience for all of us.
After all the basics were laid down and we
had the rough demo tracked out we were all
very satisfied…for like 20 minutes. Then we
realized that there was a lot more work that
needed to be done so therefore I took the
liberty of laying out a better drum pattern,
bass line and all the additional sounds that
you hear in the final version of JPT. Back
in LA in my 3 million dollar mansion I set
out to produce an amazing track. With a month’s
work of tweaking sounds left and right, adding
new piano lines and extra instruments here
and there, JPT was on the verge of completion.
More than 2 months of solid hard work on the
track, since the day we had composed it we
were almost done with JPT. We constantly worked
together giving positive feedbacks back and
forth and sometimes with a lot of F bombs
thrown in here and there but the outcome was
very satisfying.
Disregarding all the sarcasm, I hope everyone
has enjoyed JPT (the single) and continues
to listen to it and understand it and does
not get thrown off track by the title. Just
because we named it JPT does not mean we were
eating momos in the recording studio and playing
a game of 21 while we were laying down our
vocals. We take every part of what we do seriously
so I hope everyone takes us and our music
seriously too.
Peace!Bg
ps. I do have a 3 million dollar mansion
in LA.
pps. Everybody’s feelings got hurt during
the production of JPT and we all cried like
babies and after all the crying we all downed
a carton of Dairy Farm milk each.
